The form serré2 is a cross reference to the following entry:

seri (s.xii2/4)

seré,  serei,  serid,  serit;  serré,  serri,  serrit;  serry;
f. serie,  serrie;
pl. seriz
  FEW:  serescere 11,510b Gdf:  seri 2 7,389c GdfC: TL: seri 2 9,513 DEAF:  seri  DMF:  seri 1  TLF: OED: MED: DMLBS:

The Salemon 4729 attestation is problematic. The editor of the text translates a seriz as ‘quietly, stealthily’ (cf. serré1), but suggests alternative interpretations (iii 110.4729), such as el vespre a seir (cf. seir1) and el vespre aseriz (cf. aserir) – both producing tautological expressions with el vespre. Since seri is common as an adjective to refer to the weather or the night, the Salemon attestation is included here, albeit in a somewhat unusual nominal use. See also the expressions au vespre serin (sub serin) and seriement en la vespree (sub seriement1).
