cuissier (s.xiiiin)

The form quicer is a cross reference to the following entry:

cuissier (s.xiiiin)

cussere;  kisehere,  kissere,  kysser;  quicer,  quiser,  quisser,  quissir
FEW:  coxa 2/ii,1261a Gdf:  cuissiere 2,399a GdfC: TL: cuissiere 2,1143 DEAF:  cuisse 1 (cuissier)  DMF:  cuissière  TLF:  cuissière  OED:  cuisse n.  MED:  quisser n.  / quisseu n.  DMLBS:  cuissaria 528b

Although cuissier and cuissin derive from the same Latin etymon (coxa), the sense ‘pillow, cushion’ is normally not found sub cuissier. While TLL may provide two Anglo-Norman exceptions, it is not out of the question that at least one of the forms is in error for quissin.
