A rare (and late) substantival construction, developed from the adjective orguillous. Only one attestation has been found in Anglo-Norman (from 1407), whereas the entry in Gdf provides only one (post-medieval) Continental example from Premier volume des grans décades de Titus Livius, published in 1530.

The OED has an entry for orgulity n., also found in the MED as orgulite n. with citations from Malory’s Morte d’Arthur (before 1470). The Anglo-Norman equivalent *orguilté has not yet been found attested.
