As the Latin equivalent of this passage suggests, this word may be an incomplete form of boverie (in a manuscript passage that shows some signs of corruption, see also peri). Although it may be the case that the scribe was referring to the English word bower 'dwelling, habitation' (see MED bour n.; OED bower n.1).
