ristei (c.1165)

[ FEW: ; Gdf: 7,203b ristei; GdfC: ; TL: 8,1321 ristoi; DEAF:  ristoi; DMF: ; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: ]

The word is otherwise unattested. Ewert suggests that the word may derived from rista (FEW 16,728b) or may represent a deviant reading of riflei. As several editors of the Lais have maintained this reading, the entry remains, though the interpretation as ‘field of flax’ remains uncertain.
