regné1 (1113-19)

The form rengné is a cross reference to the following entry:

regné1 (1113-19)

regned,  regnee,  regnet;  rengné  (regnie  GAIMAR1 955 (var. L) ),
pl. regnez
FEW:  regnare 10,215a Gdf:  regné 6,744c GdfC: TL: regné 8,626 DEAF:  regner (regnee)  DMF:  régné  TLF: OED:  regnee n.  MED: DMLBS:

In certain graphies it is impossible to determine whether or not the final e is tonic (regne vs. regné), unless it occurs in a rhyming position. In prose, it usually is a matter of editorial choice whether or not the word is given an accent. The different etymologies and less ambiguous variant graphies validate the necessity of two separate dictionary entries.
