Although Continental French attests the singular form caillebotte, the only attestations of this word in Anglo-Norman are plural. The singular variant cailebote (provided in AND1 and the printed version of AND2 from TLL i 231) has been reinterpreted, on account of its Latin context, as caileboté (see caileboté).
