This feminine form suggests the existence of a masculine sorcerer, which, however, is not attested in French. Masculine sorcerer appears in English, but only from the late fifteenth century (MED sorcerer(e n. n.; OED sorcerer n. – the etymology is given as from the noun sorcer with a redundant -er suffix).
