saltfisch (1363)

[FEW: *11,76b sal; Gdf: ; GdfC: ; TL: ; DEAF:  sel (*); DMF: ; TLF: ; OED:  salt adj.; MED:  salt (salt fish) adj.; DMLBS: ]

The final four letters of the lemma are provided by the editor of Affairs of Ireland. The compound is well attested in the MED from c1325 though this particular form is not included in the dictionary and perhaps should be emended to saltfische on the strength of variants attested in Middle English.
