[retraiter] (1171-74)

The form retreter is a cross reference to the following entry:

[retraiter] (1171-74)

retraitier,  retreater,  retreiter,  retreter,  retretter
FEW:  retractare 10,340b Gdf:  retraiter 7,157a / retraitier 1 7,157a / retraitier 2 7,157b GdfC: TL: retraitier 8,1179 DEAF:  retraiter  DMF:  retraiter  TLF:  retraiter  OED:  retreat v.1  MED:  retreten v.1  DMLBS:  retractare 2817a

Retractare, the frequentative of retrahere, is the etymological source of retraiter. Thus, retraiter is semantically related to retraire and derivatives. Retraire and retraiter have overlapping past participial forms and in cases where it cannot be determined if the final vowel is accented (and thus clearly a form of retraiter), the form has been included under retraire.
