ptisicle (s.xiii2/4)

FEW:  phthisicus *8,404a Gdf: GdfC: TL: DEAF:  ptisique (*)  DMF: TLF: OED:  phthisical a. and n.  MED: DMLBS:

The unetymological -cle ending is difficult to explain. While a relation with English adjective phthisical seems possible, that form (explained by the OED as an English derivation, either though phthisic with the -al suffix or through phthisis followed by the -ical suffix) only appears from the early seventeenth century.
