Note that in an alternative manuscript of this text, the Latin word in that same passage is glossed (presumably incorrectly) as fauchur (i.e. ‘mower, reaper’, see fauchour) – Gloss Garland 168. An edition of the Latin base text (John of Garland’s Unum Omnium) is needed to clarify this passage.
