nubile (1313)

FEW:  nubilis 7,221a Gdf: GdfC:  nubile 10,214b TL: DEAF: DMF: TLF:  nubile  OED:  nubile a.1  MED: DMLBS:  nubilis 1943c

The word, which is probably a Latinism, is rare, with all of its attestations originating from the same series of documents, dated to 1313. This vernacular use is considerably earlier than in Continental French (1509) or English (1642).

The DMF, however, includes a prefixed form: connubile.
