rugeiment (s.xii1)

[gdw]

[ FEW: 10,546b rugire; Gdf: 7,265b rujement; GdfC: ; TL: 8,1543 ruiement; DEAF:  rugir (*rugement); DMF:  rougement 2 / ruiement; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: ]
rujement

The spelling rujement may alternatively be interpreted as ruiement, in which case the word would be a nominal derivative of the verb ruire rather than of rugir2 (both of which derive the same etymon, rugire). See rugissement and ruissement for a similar distinction.
