ruf1 (s.xiii2/4)

[gdw]

[ FEW: 10,543a rufus; Gdf: ; GdfC: ; TL: ; DEAF: ; DMF: ; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: 2866b rufus 2 ]

f. ruffe

While f and long s may be at times hard to distinguish in medieval palaeography, there are etymological grounds for separating a lexeme ruf1 from rus1 (from rufus vs. russus).
