roigner (c.1185)

The form roigné2 is a cross reference to the following entry:

roigner (c.1185)

rogner,  roignier,  roiner,  roinner;  ronyer;  rooigner;  ruigner,  ruiner,  ruinger,  ruinner;  runjer  (reigner,  rongir ),
(p.p. rond)
FEW:  *rotundiare 10,517b Gdf:  rooignier 7,239a GdfC:  roognier 10,590a TL: röoignier 8,1464 DEAF:  rooignier  DMF:  rogner  TLF:  rogner 1  OED:  royn v.  MED:  roinen v.1  DMLBS:

This verb seems to overlap with runger(‘to gnaw, nibble’), which, although similar in form and prone to confusion in some of its senses, derives from a different etymology (rumigare). While AND1 treated both verbs in one entry (roigner), AND2 separates them on an etymological/semantic basis.
