rebroier (c.1378)

[gdw]

[ FEW: *10,137a reburrus; Gdf: ; GdfC: ; TL: ; DEAF:  rebors (*); DMF: ; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: ]

The verb is believed to be related to the noun rebroy, which is also used by Gower in the same text. However, the verb may also be interpreted as a variant of rebruire (Gdf 6,648b; TL 8,388; and DEAF bruire (rebruire): ‘to reject, spurn’, which would make it unrelated to rebroy. The DMF entry rebroyer is irrelevant for this entry.
