Memorial Lectures

 

The first David Trotter Memorial Lecture, entitled The Easy Yoke of Strict Science, was given in November 2016 by Frankwalt Möhren, Emeritus Professor of Romance Philology, University of Heidelberg, and sometime Director of the DEAF Research Institute.

The second David Trotter Memorial Lecture, with the title Minding the Gap: what we can learn from gaps in the surviving records for Middle English and Anglo-Norman, was given in October 2017 by Philip Durkin, Deputy Chief Editor of the Oxford English Dictionary.

 

The third David Trotter Memorial Lecture, with the title A Christmas tradition that you will probably not wish to revive, was given by Laura Wright, Reader in English Language at the University of Cambridge, in October 2018.
