sullever (s.xii1)

[hp]

[FEW: 5,274a levare; Gdf: 7,581a sublever; GdfC: 10,702c souslever; TL: 9,950 soslever; DEAF:  lever / soslever; DMF:  soulever / sublever; TLF:  soulever; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: 3243a sublevare]
sollever;  souzlever,  sozlever,  sozliver;  suislever,  suslever,  susliever,  suzlever

Etymologically, the verb can be interpreted either as derived from Latin sublevare (accounting for variants with the suz prefix, from sub) or as a vernacular combination of the verb lever1 and the adverb sus2 (from Latin sursum, accounting for the variants with sus – Latin does not have any attestations of a verb *sursumlevare). Semantically, both constructions would have overlapped completely.
