pigace (1174-75)

[ gdw]

[ FEW: 8,421a pica; Gdf: 6,155c pigace; GdfC: ; TL: 7,929 pigace; DEAF:  pie 1 (pigace); DMF:  pigace; TLF: ; OED: ; MED:  pigace n.; DMLBS: ]
pigaase,  pigas,  pigaz,  picaz  i 89
pl. pigacis

The MED entry pigace n., translated as ‘part of a horse’s foot’, may be the same word, in which case their suggested etymology of Pegasus n. in the OED – the winged horse in Greek mythology – would be erroneous.
