[nuschet] (s.xiii1)

Entry Log

Clear

The form nuchet is a cross reference to the following entry:

[nuschet] (s.xiii1)

nuchet
FEW:  *nuska *16,603b Gdf: GdfC: TL: DEAF: DMF: TLF: OED: MED: DMLBS:

The word is not found in any of the other dictionaries, but is clearly a diminutive of nusche. Gdf has the entries nochet 2 (5,506b) and nochette (5,506c), included in the DMF as noquet, which do not appear to be related: these are translated as ‘padlock’ and etymologically explained as derived from nock (FEW 16,601a).
