greslet1 (1396)

[vcd]

[ FEW: 4,202a gracilis; Gdf: 4,346b grelet 1; GdfC: ; TL: 4,613 grelet; DEAF: G1191 graisle (*graislet); DMF:  grêlet; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: ]
grelet,
pl. grillez

The identification of the pl. grillez with this headword is tentative, as another obvious meaning could simply be a generic "small grilled fish" (e.g., whitebait, etc.). See the discussion of the main form in DEAF and DEAF: there is some debate about whether the Man Lang ants citation necesarily implies a sea fish, or whether it could refer to a freshwater fish (like a tench).
